About #ICM3 / #OSFTV
A Short Summary
Hello! My name is James aka @Occupy1Liberty on Twitter (#J1L) or EyeofRah on Ustream and my covert (haha) name CIAJames. I am an IT tech, Jack of all trades, Veteran (Navy), and now a freelance citizen journalist (documentarian)! I've used these names for my personal security and safety during the Occupation in San Francisco due to the complexity and danger of this revolution. I know many people are in the same boat as me and that’s why I am doing what I can to show the world we can make a change for the better. I’ve been part of the Occupy movement since I first heard about it in early October. I've been waiting for this for over 20 years now and happy to see so many people like me stepping up to the plate.
When I arrived at OccupySF October 10, 2011 late in the evening I was inspired seeing all the people there and offered to help with security (night patrol). I came down to offer my assistance and expertise however, I was not welcomed with open arms as I thought I would. I was told I could not have a Livestream channel designated as the OccupySF 2nd channel, and that I was not allowed to be on the team. My computer and Livestream account was hacked the 3rd day I was there; I fixed the computer and made a new LS account. After some persistence and trust gained, I was finally welcomed to join the Livestream team(3rd gen), Communications, Media, and Security. As the days and months passed, people came and went we must have had over 30 people come and go on the "Livestream Team".
With all the police activity, raids, at Bradley Manning Plaza in December we (Livestream team) decided we needed other means of video broadcasting for the team. Upon my suggestion and monetary contribution, along with other contributions from various people I inspired, we purchased a Sprint Galaxy S 2 for quality video, ease of use, and portability compared to a PC on shopping cart with car batteries for power.
We have entered a time when we must look at where humanity is going, and how it is affecting us as a race and the rest of the living things on this planet now, and in the future. This is our only home, and the time has come and gone for us to stand together to make the necessary changes for equality worldwide. It's time to save what we can from the damage done by the reckless corporations and the oligarchy that control them who have been neglecting our home and try to reverse the destruction the best we can NOW. Now is the time when we can do things better than ever before, or forever doom humanity to a destiny of class enslavement.
This is still just the beginning and I need your help to continue to document the injustice of today’s society and expand on the new free press we citizen journalists have created. Donations made to ICM3/OSFTV will be used for broadcasting services, media equipment, travel expenses, web hosting, and food. I thank you for your time and support!
