Photos of the Anti TPP rally at the SF Federal bldg (pre-march) 1.31.14 ... OccupySF, Veterans For Peace, Code Pink and many, many more showing support AGAINST the TPP... photos of the march are on the Photos tab - "Anti TPP March Down Market st 1.31.14 #ICM3 #VFP #OVSF #OSF" New photos uploaded to the Photos tab from the Anti TPP rally at the Fairmont Hotel (1.31.14) where the 1st Lady had a luncheon with her "subjects". The Black Team (Free Press) was harassed by the local constabulary requesting IDs under "suspicious" activity, like holding a camera, and going into the hotel (I was not questioned as I did not go into the building) . More pictures of the march down Market st later in the day to be loaded stat...
Finally! WIFI, electricity, a safe house, and time to sort, watermark, and post! If a picture is worth a thousand words, I just uploaded 50,000 to the photos tab from our most recent march with Veterans For Peace Chapter 91 here in San Diego, MLK Day Parade. We had a great time talking with everyone, meeting new people, and received lots of applause as we passed the crowd lining the street! I hope you enjoy the photos. See you next time, and feel free to leave, comments, suggestions, questions and/or donations. Peace :) Sample my current 30+ hour day... From San Clemente to Oceanslime... no time to talk, still much more to do (ie. written documentation and rants, video & photos to review, edit, watermark and post... Stay tuned for more, when I get to it, you'll be the first to know. Happy New Years from Oceanslime (Oceanside, CA) SAMPLE me on no sleep & seriously disappointed in humans... again! 12.31.13 Another Rant from the edge of existence in Oceanside, CA. Oh I'm sorry... Did I offend you with my sign "Veteran in Distress” or is it the way I appear to you… Well, you offend me, ignoring me as you walk or drive by without even acknowledging my presence, purposefully, specifically looking away with disdain, muttering to other passengers in your air tight BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, or other luxury vehicle…. Oh yeah, I know what you said, I can read lips… and your window was partially down. Its rather embarrassing standing here asking for help in a country I thought was mine, OURS (WE the PEOPLE…) In rebuttal to your comment, it’s extremely difficult to find that job you just shouted for me to get from your “middle class” vehicle, especially since many jobs have been shipped overseas and the “living wage” (aka minimum wage) is far below the standards I (and many other people) would consider “All American”. I offer you a suggestion, a systematic degradation of our social, economic, political, educational, environmental, and yes religious system(s) are flawed to point of utter disgust to me, provided to you (US) by the very people we have in OUR local, state, and federal government for profit of the extremely wealthy and the politicians themselves…. Now what are YOU going to do about it? "While you sleep, we work overtime." - #Anonymous #OVSF #ICM3 March Across America Video Update from OccupyVenice 12.24.13 Part 1 #OVSF #ICM3 March Across America Video Update from OccupyVenice 12.24.13 Part 2 SLO Town Veterans Memorial to Guadalupe X-Mas Parade #ICM3 #OVSF #VFP To see all the photos go to the Photos tab. We are in San Luis Obispo, one of the prettiest towns we have marched through. It must be said, however, that the civilian population has little inclination to support veterans. A few days ago we took part in the local holiday parade, and it took the town by delighted surprise. This was a Direct Action undertaken spontaneously because I was dismayed that NOT ONE veterans' association or group was involved. This blew us away because SLO has a very fine Vet Building and museum, as well as an Am Legion Post (66) and decent enough service programs, such as the RV's for Vets program, and some good transition programs as well... See the whole story on #OVSF - http://occupyveteranssanfrancisco.weebly.com/1/post/2013/12/slo-town-it-certainly-is.html Thanksgiving day Pirate Mike & I walked to central hub of commerce in downtown Santa Cruz to set up the VFP flag and info center. We stopped at the war memorial, set up shop, chalked, and dialogued with people passing by. Santa Cruz has a massive homeless community, with many of them veterans of various wars over the last 50 years. Although there is a veterans services (pictured below) it has been closed for aprox 3 years for structural renovation... The building sits empty while dozens of homeless vets sleep under bridges or in any nook away from prying eyes or the police. Just like any city SC has a "shelter" off the beaten path and far from the central business dist.
